How to travel in Hpa-an
Hpa-an has some cave pagodas in the suburbs. Sadan cave, Yathae Pyan Cave, Kaw Gon Cave and so on. I made model routes, so I am gald you refer to it. If you hire a motorbike taxi for a day, you can go to most major pagodas. For the main pagoda, please see the route map below.
Because Sadan cave are located a little far, if you go either way, or if you want togo all of them, it will take a whole day, so I recommend that you go and leave from your hotel early in the morning .
- In the Sadan cave, there is a boat station when going through the cave, and to the boat ride back to the entrance. (Charged, 2,000 kyat). You should take and bring your shoes. It is better to put your shoes at the entrance, if you use the boat.
- Bayin Nyi Cave has hot springs. But it is not clean, please think with sense of footbath. Also, there are lots of monkeys in the Bayin Nyi Cave, those who want to see monkeys are advised to go to the Bayin Nyi Cave.
It is advisable to go to the last Yathae Pyan Caveand Bat Cave at 5 pm.
- In the Yathae Pyan Cave, there is an observation deck through the cave. The sunset from the observatory is the most beautiful place in Hpa-an.
- As the name suggests, the bat cave is a cave in which many bats live, and it is seen that countless bats jump out of the cave at sunset. Both are recommended.
The bat cave can go to Hpa-an by boat from Mawlamyine, there is a port near the Bat Cave.
